Lexington International LLC Receives Prestigious 2009 U.S. President's E Award Recognizing Export Excellence

Manufacturer of the HairMax LaserComb is One of Only 14 Manufacturing Firms Nationally to Receive Highest Government Recognition for Export Activity from President Obama's Administration This Year

Boca Raton, FL - Nov. 11, 2009 - Boca Raton, FL - Nov. 11, 2009 - Lexington International LLC, manufacturer of the HairMax LaserComb, was one of just 14 leading manufacturing exporting companies nationwide to receive the President's E Award, which recognizes successes in world markets and subsequent contributions to the U.S. economy.

Presented to Lexington at the U.S. Commerce Building in Washington earlier this month by U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Gary Locke and Florida Senator George LeMieux, the President's E Award is the highest U.S. Government recognition any U.S. entity may receive for supporting export activity. Traditionally, the award is presented by the U.S. President at the White House, however, scheduling conflicts prevented that from occurring this year.

The President's E Award was created by President John F. Kennedy in 1961 to recognize persons, firms, or organizations that contribute significantly to increasing United States exports.

In presenting the awards, Secretary Locke said:  "We're here today to honor the people, firms, and organizations that produce and promote U.S. goods and services that support American jobs,  Trade has always been crucial to American prosperity. But, in today's difficult economic times, with other drivers of growth like consumer spending flagging, it's even more important for American industry to take advantage of every opportunity for export-driven growth."

Relating to Lexington Secretary Locke said: "Of particular note is your successful outreach to the international medical community to help establish credibility for HairMax LaserComb and reduce trade barriers associated with medical devices.

Now in its 10th year of operation, Lexington exports the HairMax LaserComb to more than 125 countries around the world, accounting for about 35 percent of the company's annual sales. The HairMax LaserComb is the only laser phototherapy device cleared for marketing by the FDA to promote hair growth.

This recognition adds to the credibility of the HairMax LaserComb in international commerce and further validates the important contribution this device has made in enriching the lives of millions of people around the world experiencing hair loss.

"It is an exceptional honor for our company to be recognized by President Obama's administration for our achievements," said Lexington's Director Alena Michaels, who received the award. Managing Director David Michaels states "Our goal has always been to encourage trade by exporting our medical laser device internationally and this President's E Award tells us that we are accomplishing this objective."

"We have discovered excellent opportunities overseas as the U.S. economy has faced continued economic challenges," David Michaels said. "Hair loss is a universal condition and our product's appeal goes far beyond the boundaries of the United States."

Lexington has worked closely with Department of Commerce International Trade Specialist Miguel Olivares, from the Fort Lauderdale office, to pursue Gold Key Service in Belgium, Brazil, The Netherlands, Russia, UK, with further assistance in Japan. Additionally, Lexington actively promotes it laser device overseas through advertising in international trade journals, and created public relations campaigns in Australia, France, Germany, South Korea, UK and Russia. "We have identified many key countries and as we move forward we will be targeting mass retail opportunities in those countries," David Michaels said.
